The US 31 project is a 122 mile corridor improvement between I-465 in Indianapolis, Indiana and the US 20 bypass in South Bend, Indiana.  The upgrade of the road will eliminate over 30 traffic signals and 630 unsignalized and private entries onto US 31, turning the road into a stoplight free highway.

The need for an improved US 31 corridor has been recognized for decades.  In 1990, the US 31 Coalition was formed to accelerate the design and construction of the much needed upgrade.

Since that time, we've celebrated the opening of a new freeway in Hamilton County, Howard County, and St. Joseph/Marshall County and seen the benefits that come with those upgrades!

The Coalition is now working on the next critical pieces of the corridor, found in Fulton, Marshall, Miami and Tipton Counties.  With the completion of a free flowing US 31 all the way from Indianapolis to South Bend, Indiana will realize significant safety and economic benefits!

What's New: Governor Holcomb signs HEA 1002, providing long term, dedicated funding for Indiana's roads.
What's New: INDOT and CHA Consulting, Inc. are working on a US 31 Corridor Feasibility Study from SR38 in Hamilton County to US 30 in Marshall County.
